Mauritania are already preparing for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, set to begin in March, with the Mourabitounes scheduled to face Gambia in a two-legged tie. Coach Corentin Martins has announced a 20-man squad for a training camp in Senegal ahead of the qualifiers.
The camp will run from January 31 to February 8 at the Diambars Institute in Saly and will feature exclusively locally-based players. Notably, Abderrahmane Ould Brahim and Alassane Diop have received their first call-ups to the national squad.
Two friendly matches are planned during the camp, although the opponents have yet to be confirmed.
