Gabon 2017 Qualifiers: Emmanuel Imorou to Miss Mali Clash Due to Injury
Emmanuel Imorou, who was called up to represent Benin in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mali, will unfortunately miss the match due to injury. The Squirrels’ defender has sustained a thigh strain and is currently sidelined, unable to join the team for the second day of qualifiers.
Imorou, who has previously played for Braga, confirmed the news, stating that coach Oumar Tchomogo is aware of his injury and that they spoke over the phone recently.
On a more positive note, Fabien Farnolle, the goalkeeper, has confirmed that he will join the squad on Wednesday ahead of the fixture against Mali. The absence of Imorou will be a blow for Benin, but the team will hope to make do with the available squad as they aim for a positive result in the qualifiers.
