As of now, CAF (Confederation of African Football) has not received any communication from Algeria regarding the replacement of Libya as the host country for the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). Hicham El Amrani, the secretary-general of CAF, stated that the organization’s position has not changed, and Libya is confirmed as the host country for the 2017 tournament. Despite the ongoing security situation in Libya, CAF remains committed to holding the AFCON in the country and will continue to monitor developments to ensure the successful organization of the tournament.
