CAN 2016 Handball: Tunisia vs Algeria and Egypt vs Angola – Semi-Final Schedule

Hosts Egypt have secured the final spot in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations Handball Championship, cruising to a 39-18 victory over Congo in Wednesday’s quarter-final. The Pharaohs, who dominated Group A and have won all their matches so far, will now face Angola in one of Friday’s semi-final clashes.

Angola claimed a narrow 22-21 win over Morocco to book their place in the last four. The tightly contested match saw both teams level at 9-9 at halftime before Angola edged ahead in the second half to secure qualification.

The second semi-final will feature a North African showdown, as Tunisia take on Algeria. Tunisia impressed in their 24-20 quarter-final win over Cameroon, remaining unbeaten in the tournament, while Algeria defeated DR Congo 34-25 to advance. Both sides boast talented squads, with Algeria’s team featuring several players plying their trade in France.

The tournament carries high stakes: the champion will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, while the top three finishers earn spots in the 2017 World Championship in France.

**Semi-Final Schedule (Friday, January 29, 2016, GMT):**

* 16:30 – Tunisia vs Algeria
* 19:00 – Egypt vs Angola

With both semi-finals promising intense battles, fans can expect thrilling handball action as the continent’s top teams compete for glory and Olympic qualification.
