Senegal’s Lions of Teranga Train in Mongomo Amid Recovery Concerns for Mané
After arriving in Mongomo on Thursday, Senegal’s Lions of Teranga held a training session on Friday, with star player Sadio Mané participating. However, Mané’s availability for the opening match remains uncertain.
“His recovery progress will determine that. If he is fit, we hope to have him available to play,” said Senegal coach Alain Giresse.
Giresse also addressed the difficult travel conditions the team faced.
“The trip was completely unacceptable. It’s not normal to experience such circumstances. Unfortunately, we have to factor this into our scheduling because the players have felt the effects. What was planned did not go as expected. Now we have to get back into the rhythm.”
Senegal will open its 2015 AFCON campaign on January 19 against Ghana. Group C also features Algeria and South Africa.
