Zambia Bounce Back with Convincing Win Over Niger
After a frustrating 0-0 draw in Niamey on Matchday 3, Zambia responded emphatically on Wednesday by defeating Niger 3-0 in Lusaka during Matchday 4 of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
All three goals came in the second half:
Rainford Kalaba opened the scoring in the 58th minute,
Emmanuel Mayuka doubled the lead in the 73rd,
and Kennedy Mweene sealed the victory from the penalty spot in the 87th minute.
This win brings Zambia to five points, reviving their campaign in a competitive group that also features Mozambique and Cape Verde. Cape Verde maintained their position at the top with a narrow 1-0 win over Mozambique, thanks to Ryan Mendes, bringing their total to 9 points.
