CAN 2015 Qualifiers: Togo Gears Up for Crucial Return Leg Against Uganda
Fresh off a morale-boosting 1-0 away win in Kampala, Togo’s national team is back at work ahead of the fourth matchday of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Hawks ended Uganda’s 10-year unbeaten home record thanks to a decisive goal from Kokou Donou, earning a vital three points in Group E.
After returning to Lomé in the early hours of Sunday (3 a.m.), the Togolese players were granted a short rest before resuming training on Monday morning. The full squad was in attendance except for goalkeeper Kossi Agassa, who stayed behind due to a shoulder injury. The Stade de Reims shot-stopper has now officially returned to France to continue his recovery, with the approval of the national team’s technical staff.
Togo will now attempt to secure a second straight win over the Cranes on Wednesday, this time at home. Uganda arrived in Lomé on Monday around 1 p.m. GMT and will train at the match venue on Tuesday afternoon.
Group E Standings After Matchday 3:

A home win would propel Togo back into serious contention for qualification.
