Senegal Set for Crucial Clash with Tunisia in Monastir
As part of preparations for the AFCON 2015 qualifier against the Carthage Eagles, the Lions of Senegal will depart Dakar on Monday, October 13, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. local time.
The team, led by coach Alain Giresse, will travel aboard a special Nouvel Air charter flight, arranged to replace Ceiba International, the airline used for their earlier trip to Gaborone on matchday two.
The five-hour flight will take the squad to Tunis, after which they will proceed to Monastir (approximately 180 km away), the venue for Wednesday’s key Group G match against Tunisia. It was in Monastir that Tunisia previously defeated Botswana 2–1.
According to sources from the Senegalese Football Federation, the delegation will consist of 51 people, including:
Players
Coaching and medical staff
Federation officials
Representatives from the Senegalese Ministry of Sports
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday, October 15, and could play a decisive role in the race for qualification, with both Senegal and Tunisia tied on 7 points.
