Somali Referee Hagi Yabarow Wiish to Officiate Togo vs. Uganda Clash
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Somali referee Hagi Yabarow Wiish to officiate the crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Togo and Uganda, scheduled for Wednesday in Lomé.
Wiish will be assisted by Berhe O’Michael (Eritrea) and Yahaya Mahamadou (Nigeria) as assistant referees. The fourth official, also from Somalia, is Hagi Mohamed, while David Koudougou Yaméogo of Burkina Faso will serve as the match commissioner.
This encounter is vital for Togo, who sit at the bottom of Group E with 3 points, despite their 1-0 win in Kampala last Saturday. A second victory over Uganda would significantly boost their chances of qualification for the final tournament in Morocco.
Current Group E standings:
Ghana – 5 points
Uganda – 4 points
Guinea – 4 points
Togo – 3 points
Victory at home could be the turning point for the Hawks in their bid to reach the 2015 AFCON finals.
