Algeria Secures CAN 2015 Qualification with Impressive Win Over Malawi
Algeria has officially secured their spot in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after a dominant 3-0 victory over Malawi at the Mustapha-Tchaker Stadium in Blida on Wednesday night. With this win, the Fennecs became the first team to qualify for the tournament in Morocco.
The match started in perfect fashion for Algeria:
Yacine Brahimi opened the scoring in the 1st minute, giving the hosts an early lead.
Riyad Mahrez doubled the advantage just before halftime, scoring in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Islam Slimani added a third in the 55th minute, sealing the victory for Algeria.
With this three-point haul, Algeria extends its lead in Group B and secures their place in Morocco. The Fennecs’ qualification comes off the back of a strong showing in the 2014 World Cup, solidifying their position as one of Africa’s top teams.

With Mali, Ethiopia, and Malawi trailing, they will now have to push hard in the final rounds to join Algeria in Morocco.
