Tunisia and Algeria Draw in Friendly Ahead of 2015 AFCON
In a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations warm-up match, Tunisia and Algeria played out a 1-1 draw on Sunday in Radès. The encounter between the two North African heavyweights served as a key test ahead of the continental tournament.
Algeria struck first in the 39th minute, when Liassine Cadamuro headed home a well-placed Yacine Brahimi free kick. However, the Fennecs’ momentum was halted just before the break as Wahbi Khazri equalized for Tunisia with a superb strike into Raïs Mbolhi’s top corner in the 44th minute.
Things got more complicated for Algeria, who were reduced to 10 men after Cadamuro was shown a red card for a dangerous challenge in the second half.
