CAN 2015 – Guinea: Kevin Constant Absent Again, Dussuyer Runs Out of Patience
The troubled relationship between Kevin Constant and the Guinea national team continues to unravel. The Trabzonspor midfielder has once again missed the Syli National’s training camp, this time citing passport issues as the reason for his absence ahead of the crucial CAN 2015 qualifiers against Togo and Uganda.
Coach Michel Dussuyer, visibly frustrated, confirmed the situation:
“I spoke to him on the phone today. We put him on a ticket for this Tuesday and sent him a facilitation document. He finally told me that he still hadn’t passed, yet I traveled with this document, as did the physiotherapist.”
Constant’s repeated absences and last-minute withdrawals have clearly eroded the patience of the French coach. After not using the player in previous matches, Dussuyer has decided to move forward without him for these decisive final two games. According to sources close to the team, Constant is no longer part of the coach’s plans.
This development comes as Guinea continue their preparations in Cotonou, Benin, where the team will hold their final training session at the Friendship Stadium on Thursday morning. The squad is set to fly to Lomé in the afternoon for their upcoming match against Togo.
With tensions rising and qualification at stake, Kevin Constant’s international future appears increasingly uncertain, if not over entirely under the current technical setup.
