The midfielder for the Elephants, Zokora, acknowledges the importance of the upcoming clash against the Teranga Lions of Senegal for Ivory Coast’s qualification in the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. Despite the early stage of the season, he emphasizes the need to score goals without conceding, aiming to secure an advantageous position before the return leg in Dakar.

Zokora admits that, personally, he is not at 100% with his Turkish club, Trabzonspor, but points out that they have already played three games, collecting four points. He believes the team is in good shape, emphasizing the significance of the match against Senegal, a formidable rival.

Motivation is high within the team, especially after a draw (1-1) against Russia, which boosted confidence. Zokora highlights the importance of the home crowd’s support in their quest for victory against Senegal.

Despite having taken a step back from the Elephants at some point, Zokora expresses his pleasure at returning to the national team, having represented the country for over 11 years. Regarding Sabri Lamouchi’s approach, Zokora mentions that he responded positively to Lamouchi’s call, finding his speech optimistic, and expresses hope in achieving their collective goals together.
