Wadîi El Jari, the president of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), addressed the question of the budget allocated to the Tunisian national team for the South African campaign. El Jari responded to allegations from an official of the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding the budget amount.
He stated that the reported figure of 2.7 million dinars (1,300,230 euros) is imaginary, and the actual amount received by the FTF is much less. El Jari emphasized that the federation manages its budget as efficiently as possible and would not refuse any savings. According to him, the FTF has received only 300,000 dinars (144,470 euros), which has not yet arrived in the federation’s coffers.
This clarification came as a response during a broadcast, and El Jari stressed the need to avoid controversies before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The Carthage Eagles are scheduled to leave Abu Dhabi for South Africa on Thursday.
