CAN 2013: THE BLACK STARS AWAIT THE FIRE OF THE FLAMES
Ghana’s coach, Kwesi Appiah, anticipates a formidable challenge from Malawi and emphasizes the need for a strong performance in the upcoming double confrontation for the CAN 2013 qualifiers. The first leg is set to take place this weekend in Accra. Appiah acknowledges the strength of the Malawi team and believes that underestimating them could jeopardize Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the final phase of the competition.
In a statement to the official website of the Ghana Football Federation (GFA), Appiah expressed his observations after watching multiple matches of the Malawi team. He remarked, “Malawi is a very strong team. I have already watched two, three of their matches and I found them well put together and confident.” Appiah stresses the importance of making sure the players understand the strength of the opponent, emphasizing that Malawi is not a team to be underestimated.
The coach is determined to secure a comfortable victory at home in Accra before heading to Blantyre for the return leg. The preparations for the upcoming matches against Malawi are set to be in full swing, with the Black Stars expected to train extensively to ensure a strong performance.
