Former Guinean international Titi Camara was a victim of the ministerial reshuffle in his country. If no official reason was given for this replacement, it is rumored in the Guinean capital that the now ex-Minister of Sports had fallen out of favor with several players in local football. He was replaced by Sanoussy Bantama Sow. The 39-year-old legend, appointed Minister of Sports in 2010, no longer had the sympathy of fans, team players and officials of FeGuiFoot (Guinean Football Federation). He notably failed to give a new face to the national Syli and put the football championship back on track. A few weeks ago, Aboubacar Camara was booed at the September 28 stadium while attending a football match. Unpaid salaries and suspicions of embezzlement While it is the Guinean Ministry of Sports which directly manages the national football team, Titi Camara has always been singled out for the complaints of coach Michel Dussuyer. The latter constantly demanded his salaries. Some expatriate players also complained about travel and accommodation conditions at each Syli regrouping. Kevin Constant , one of them, threw in the towel and ended his international career this Monday. A few months ago, Titi Camara and some of his fellow ministers were involved in a case of embezzlement and mismanagement of sums of money intended for the preparation of the national team during the CAN 2012. A former international, Titi Camara notably played for clubs such as Saint Etienne, Lens, Marseille, Liverpool and West Ham. He ended his career in 2004 after 16 years of high-level practice.
