CAN 2013/GERVINHO: “IT WON’T BE A WALK IN THE PARK FOR US”

Ivory Coast’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) does not diminish the team’s desire to win their last group stage match against Algeria. Gervinho, the Ivory Coast striker, emphasized that they would approach the match with the same determination to secure a victory and finish the first round with a flawless record.

Gervinho acknowledged the quality of the Algerian team, noting their ability to play attractive football and create numerous chances. However, he also mentioned that Algeria has struggled with efficiency in converting chances into goals. Despite being aware of the challenge posed by Algeria, Gervinho expressed confidence in the Ivorian team’s abilities.

Reflecting on their recent victory against Tunisia, Gervinho highlighted the team’s redemption after a disappointing performance against Togo. He believes that the Ivorian team has demonstrated its quality and is committed to bringing the CAN title back to Ivory Coast. Gervinho expressed that he is in great shape, and the entire team is focused on achieving success in the tournament.
