Moumouni Dagano, Aristide Bancé, and Wilfried Sanou have made a noteworthy return to the Burkina Faso national football team, as announced by the Belgian coach Paul Put. The squad, revealed on Monday, sees the inclusion of these three players who had been absent for a considerable period. Moumouni Dagano, the spearhead of the “Stallions” attack (the team’s nickname), missed the previous match due to injury. Striker Aristide Bancé (Augsburg/GER) and midfielder Wilfried Sanou (Kyoto Sanga/JPN) are back after a prolonged absence.
Paul Put, facing criticism since assuming the role in March and particularly after a 1-0 defeat against the Central African Republic in the previous qualifying match, has also called up Abdou Razack Traoré (Lechia Gdansk/POL) and a newcomer, striker Wilfried Dah (Al Dhaid Sharjah/UAE).
However, midfielder Wilfried Balima (Sheriff Tiraspol/MDA), Pan Pierre Koulibaly (Montegnée/BEL), and attackers Ahmed Touré (El Gouna/EGY), who were part of the squad in the previous match in Bangui, have been excluded. Injured midfielder Patrick Zoundi (FC Union Berlin/GER) will also miss out.
