Norwich midfielder Andrew Surman has been approached by South Africa’s coach, Gordon Igesund, with hopes that he will join the national team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2013) in January. Surman, born in Johannesburg, has been sought after by previous South Africa coaches but has yet to commit. Igesund expressed his intention to talk to Surman and convince him, believing that the midfielder could bring a lot to the team. South Africa is the host country for CAN 2013 and is placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Niger, and Cape Verde.
