Campbell scores first Kortrijk goal as Dithejane maintains impressive MLS run

South Africa youngster Shandre Campbell scored his first goal for KV Kortrijk over the weekend, although his side were beaten 3-1 by Charleroi in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Campbell’s goal was one of several notable contributions from South African players competing abroad, with Puso Dithejane also continuing his recent run of form in the United States.

Dithejane provided an assist for Chicago Fire in their 2-2 draw with Seattle Sounders in Major League Soccer. The attacking player has continued to make an impact for his club, adding another decisive contribution to his recent performances.

Olwethu Makhanya meanwhile appears to have established himself as a regular in the Rangers side. The Bafana Bafana defender played the entire match as Rangers edged Aberdeen 1-0 in the league, completing another full 90-minute appearance.

In Cyprus, Luther Singh played from start to finish for AEL Limassol in their 2-0 victory over Anorthosis. Yaya Sithole also started and played 61 minutes as Leiria defeated Tondela 2-0 in Portugal.

Manqoba Mngqithi’s Young Africans also maintained their perfect start to the season. They defeated Pamba 2-0 to continue their unbeaten record and keep winning in the campaign.

In Egypt, Rulani Mokwena’s Pyramids followed a similar path, extending their winning run with a 2-0 league victory over Abu Qir Semad.
