Vincent Aboubakar is on the verge of continuing his career in Turkey, with reports indicating that the veteran Cameroonian striker has reached an agreement to sign for Sariyer SK.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since his departure from Hatayspor in May 2025 but now looks set to don the colours of the Istanbul-based side.

According to Turkish outlet Trivela Spor, negotiations between Aboubakar and Sariyer SK have concluded successfully, with the player poised to finalize his move in the coming days.

The deal represents a significant coup for Sariyer, who have managed to secure the services of one of Africa’s most seasoned forwards despite interest from other clubs.

Among those suitors was Wydad Casablanca, who made a strong financial proposal in an attempt to lure Aboubakar to Morocco.

However, the striker has opted to remain in Turkish football, a league where he has enjoyed considerable success and popularity over the years.

Aboubakar’s last stint with Hatayspor saw him make 28 appearances across all competitions during the 2024-2025 campaign, where he contributed eight goals and two assists.

While not his most prolific season, his experience, physical presence, and leadership on the pitch were invaluable to his side.

His current market value, as listed by Transfermarkt, stands at €1.2 million, a figure that reflects his enduring quality despite his advancing age.

During his time at Hatayspor, the Cameroonian earned an annual salary of €2.5 million (approximately 1.625 billion FCFA), a testament to his stature in Turkish football.

While the financial details of his impending deal with Sariyer SK have not been disclosed, it is expected that Aboubakar’s wage demands will be adjusted to reflect the club’s structure while still recognizing his pedigree.

Having represented Cameroon on the international stage with distinction, including memorable performances at the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup, Aboubakar brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality.

His journey has taken him through renowned clubs such as Porto, Beşiktaş, and Al Nassr, making him one of the most recognizable African forwards of his generation.

Sariyer SK, aiming to strengthen their attacking options, view Aboubakar’s arrival as a major statement.

His presence is anticipated to inject firepower and seasoned leadership into the squad as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.

An official announcement is expected soon, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Vincent Aboubakar’s illustrious career.
