Cameroonian outfit Dynamo de Douala sign Peruvian duo ahead of 2026/27 season
Cameroonian outfit Dynamo de Douala have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign with the signing of two Peruvian players, José Maria Rodriguez and Joseph Monteza.
The two players arrived in Douala on Thursday, joining the Cameroonian club ahead of the new season.
Rodriguez, a striker, and Monteza, a defender, have both signed for Dynamo de Douala as the Elite One runners-up look to build a stronger squad for the upcoming campaign.
“Dynamo Club de Douala is delighted to announce the signing of José Maria RODRIGUEZ (striker) and Joseph MONTEZA (defender) for the 2026/2027 season. José Maria, Joseph, welcome to the bon ba job,” the club announced.
The move will see both Peruvians experience Cameroonian football for the first time, with the pair expected to adapt quickly to the demands of the Elite One.
Rodriguez will provide another attacking option for Dynamo, while Monteza is expected to strengthen the club’s defensive department as they prepare for a demanding season.
Their arrivals also underline Dynamo de Douala’s ambitions after the club narrowly missed out on the 2025/2026 Cameroonian professional league title.
Having finished as runners-up last season, Dynamo will be determined to go one step further in the new campaign and challenge strongly for the Elite One crown.
The club will now hope their two Peruvian recruits can settle quickly and make a significant contribution as Dynamo de Douala aim to turn their title disappointment into success during the 2026/2027 season.
