Cameroonian goalkeeper Simon Omossola has expressed his delight after signing a contract extension with Congolese club St Eloi Lupopo.
The club confirmed the news on Tuesday, December 24, through an official statement.
“Simon Omossola extends his contract with the Cheminots! Football Club St Eloi Lupopo is pleased and proud to announce the extension of Simon Omossola’s contract. The Cameroonian international goalkeeper will therefore continue to defend the Cheminots’ goal until 2026,” the statement read.
Following the announcement, Omossola shared his excitement and vowed to repay the faith the club has shown in him.
“I am very happy to be able to sign up for the long term with FC St Eloi Lupopo. I feel fulfilled at the club and am doing everything I can to repay the trust placed in me. The goal is to continue to be there when I am called upon,” he said.
Omossola joined St Eloi Lupopo in December 2022 from AS Vita Club and has since become a cornerstone of the Yellow and Blue squad.
In 40 appearances, he has kept an impressive 25 clean sheets, solidifying his reputation as one of the standout goalkeepers in Ligue 1 Illicocash.
