Cameroonian forward Patrick Soko is enduring a frustrating campaign in Spain, with the winger yet to find his rhythm since joining UD Almería.

The 28-year-old arrived in Almeria in the summer of 2025 from SD Huesca amid high expectations following an impressive season in the Spanish second tier. However, life at his new club has proven far more challenging than anticipated.

Since the start of the 2025–2026 Liga 2 season, Soko has struggled to make a tangible impact. Despite featuring in 16 league matches, the Cameroonian international has failed to register a single goal or assist in the competition. His performances on the right wing have shown flashes of effort and intent, but the end product that once defined his game has been missing.

So far this season, his only goal came in the Copa del Rey — a modest return for a player who was brought in to add attacking firepower and experience to Almeria’s promotion push.

The current drought stands in sharp contrast to his outstanding 2024–2025 campaign with Huesca. Last term, Soko was one of the most effective attackers in Liga 2, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 37 league appearances. His pace, direct running, and clinical finishing made him a constant threat and one of Huesca’s standout performers.

Now, questions are being raised about his adaptation to his new environment and tactical setup at Almeria. Whether it is a matter of confidence, system, or form, Soko will be eager to rediscover the spark that made him such a decisive figure last season.

With the campaign still ongoing, the Cameroonian attacker has time to turn things around. But as the weeks pass, the pressure continues to mount for him to deliver in front of goal and justify the faith shown in him during the summer transfer window.
