Cameroonian striker Mollo Bessala has officially joined Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol on a season-long loan from Ukrainian club LNZ Cherkasy, with an option for a permanent transfer.
The 21-year-old forward’s move was confirmed by Sheriff Tiraspol via a statement published on the club’s website. The loan agreement will keep Bessala at the Moldovan champions until at least 30 June 2026, marking a new chapter in the young attacker’s career following a season and a half in the Ukrainian Premier League.
Bessala, who is under contract with LNZ Cherkasy until December 2027, has been a regular presence in the Ukrainian top flight during the 2023–24 season. He featured in 25 league matches, scoring once and contributing three assists.
While not prolific in front of goal, the Cameroonian was praised for his physicality, pressing ability, and team-oriented performances in a league disrupted by external challenges and competitive inconsistency.
His transfer to Sheriff Tiraspol represents a significant opportunity for both the player and the club. For Bessala, it is a chance to gain valuable European experience with a side that has regularly featured in UEFA competitions in recent years.
For Sheriff, the move reflects their continued strategy of recruiting emerging talent from across Africa and Eastern Europe to strengthen their squad depth and maintain domestic dominance.
Despite modest statistics at LNZ Cherkasy, Bessala’s potential and versatility appear to have impressed Sheriff’s scouting team. The Moldovan side has opted for a loan structure that allows them to assess the forward’s adaptation and development before committing to a full transfer.
Transfermarkt currently values Bessala at €500,000, reflecting his potential rather than past output. At Sheriff, he will join a competitive setup with high expectations, where he will be tasked with adding pace and depth to the attacking line-up.
The club remains a dominant force in Moldovan football and has gained international recognition through its performances in European qualifiers and group-stage matches, most notably a memorable Champions League win over Real Madrid in 2021.
The move also signals a potentially broader ambition for Bessala, who is still in the early stages of his professional journey. Having made the transition from local football in Cameroon to Ukraine, and now to Moldova, he continues to build a profile as a player willing to take on new challenges in unfamiliar environments.
His integration into Sheriff’s squad will be closely watched, particularly by Cameroonian fans eager to see more young talents emerging on the European stage. Should Bessala impress in Tiraspol, it could pave the way for a permanent stay—and possibly further steps up the European football ladder.
For now, Sheriff Tiraspol and Bessala will focus on the upcoming season, with both parties hoping that the move will be mutually beneficial. The forward is expected to join the squad immediately and begin training ahead of the new campaign.
