Cameroonian defender Enzo Boyomo suffers ligament injury

Cameroonian international Enzo Boyomo, who plies his trade for Spanish outfit Osasuna has suffered a right ankle injury, the club has confirmed.

The 24-year-old rock-solid centre-back picked up the knock at the weekend while in action against Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga, sparking concern over his condition.

Following an extensive medical examinations, the highly-rated defender has been diagnosed with a ligament damage without any bone injury, coming as a big relief for the Spanish club, who earlier feared of a serious setback.

“Footballer Enzo Boyomo underwent radiological tests this afternoon at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, which confirmed that he has a ligament injury to his right ankle with no bone damage. The Osasuna defender, who suffered the injury during yesterday’s match against Celta, will immediately begin the recovery process and is awaiting further developments.” A statement from Osasuna reads.

The Cameroonian international’s return to action will now depend on how he responds to treatment and progresses in his recovery.

This season, Boyomo has made 20 appearances in the Spanish La Liga for Osasuna, scoring one goal and providing an assist.

At the international level, the defender has made 9 appearances and scored one goal since making his debut on November 2025.
