Cameroonian centre-back Christopher Wooh eyes Premier League or Bundesliga move despite Trabzonspor agreement

Christopher Wooh appears to have taken a decisive turn in his transfer saga, opting to delay a move to Trabzonspor despite an agreement being reached between the Turkish club and his current side.

The Cameroonian centre-back is now prioritising a switch to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

While Trabzonspor had made significant strides in securing his services, the 22-year-old defender has reconsidered, choosing instead to explore opportunities in the Premier League or Bundesliga.

Wooh, who has long harboured ambitions of playing at the highest level in Europe, is now being closely monitored by Wolverhampton Wanderers and VfB Stuttgart.

Both clubs are understood to be advancing discussions as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new season.

“His dream has always been to compete in one of the elite European leagues,” a source close to the player revealed. “While the move to Turkey was tempting, the chance to join a club in England or Germany is something he cannot ignore.”

The interest from Wolves and Stuttgart is a clear endorsement of Wooh’s growing reputation on the continent.

Known for his strength, aerial ability, and composure on the ball, the Cameroon international has been a key figure for both club and country in recent seasons, attracting the attention of scouts across Europe.

Wooh had been expected to finalise his move to Trabzonspor earlier this month, with both clubs having agreed to terms.

However, the player’s hesitation signals a shift in priorities as he waits to see whether the Premier League or Bundesliga options fully materialise.

The situation leaves Trabzonspor in limbo, having already made preparations for Wooh’s arrival.

While a deal is not entirely off the table, it now appears unlikely unless talks with English and German clubs fall through.

For now, the focus remains on whether Wolverhampton or Stuttgart can reach a final agreement to bring the defender into their ranks.

With the transfer window still open and interest mounting, Wooh’s next move will be one of the more closely watched developments in the coming days.

Should either club finalise a deal, it would mark a significant step forward in Wooh’s career, fulfilling a long-held dream and potentially providing a major boost to his national team prospects ahead of future international competitions.
