The appointment of Volker Finke, a 65-year-old German coach, as the new head coach of the Cameroon national football team, the Indomitable Lions, has been confirmed by the Minister of Sports. This decision comes amid some controversy, with former Cameroon international Roger Milla expressing strong opposition to a foreign, specifically a white, coach leading the team. Milla had made statements suggesting resistance to the new coach’s arrival. Despite this, Finke is set to take charge of the team and reside in Cameroon. His first challenge will be guiding the Indomitable Lions in their upcoming match against Togo on June 9.
