Cameroon U23 Team Stranded in Nairobi Due to Visa Issues
Cameroon’s football woes continue, this time hitting the U23 national team, who found themselves stranded in Nairobi, Kenya, on their way to Harare for their African Games qualifier against Zimbabwe scheduled for Sunday.
The young Indomitable Lions were denied boarding to Zimbabwe due to missing visas, forcing the team to spend the night in the Kenyan capital. According to Camfoot, the situation has once again highlighted the organizational deficiencies within the Cameroonian Football Federation, with fingers pointed squarely at Pierre Claver Oyono, the team coordinator.
This isn’t an isolated case. Under Oyono’s leadership, similar logistical failures have reportedly affected other national teams, suggesting a recurring issue in team travel and planning.
As of now, the Cameroonian U23 side remains in Nairobi, awaiting resolution of the visa issue, with hopes of reaching Harare in time for the crucial qualifier.
