Jean-Paul Akono, the coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, appointed in September 2012, is yet to have an official employment contract. Despite the delay, Akono remains optimistic and believes that the contract signing will take place shortly. The Cameroonian sports authority has a history of delayed contract signings, as Akono’s predecessor Denis Lavagne faced a similar situation. Akono, who is a candidate for his own succession, seems cautious not to jeopardize his chances.
