The elite national football championships in Cameroon are scheduled to commence on February 2. This decision was reached during a tripartite meeting involving the Cameroonian Football Federation, the Association of Elite Clubs of Cameroon (Acec), and the Cameroon Professional Football League (Lfpc).
The primary objective of the meeting was to establish a consensus between the Lfpc and Acec to facilitate the prompt start of the elite national championships, following disputes that emerged after a previous tripartite meeting in Douala.
In addition to the commencement date, another significant decision was made to transform club activities into a commercial company. This transformation is in line with legislative requirements, and clubs are expected to adopt the form of a Mixed Economy Company (Sem), Limited Liability Company (Sarl), or Limited Company (Sa). This move aims to enhance the professionalization and sustainability of football activities in Cameroon.
