Cameroonian striker Karl Etta Eyong marked his return from injury with a goal as Levante secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Athletic Club in the Spanish La Liga on Wednesday.

The forward, who had missed five matches due to a muscle injury, came off the bench in the 72nd minute and wasted little time in making his presence felt, finding the back of the net to open his La Liga scoring account for the season.

Eyong’s contribution provided a timely boost for Levante, who secured an important victory with the Cameroonian international returning to action after several weeks on the sidelines.

The 22-year-old had been unavailable since September 6 after sustaining a muscle injury that forced him to miss a series of matches. His return against Athletic Club, capped by a goal, will offer encouragement as he looks to regain full match fitness and establish his rhythm for the remainder of the campaign.

Eyong enjoyed an impressive spell last season, scoring six goals for Levante in La Liga. He will now be hoping to build on that performance and make a significant contribution to the club’s campaign following his recovery.

His goal against Athletic Club represents a positive start to his return, with the striker aiming to maintain his fitness and deliver more attacking contributions as the season progresses.
