Nkoa emphasized that the ongoing discussions about the call for applications for the coaching position are not instigated by him and are not meant to undermine the interests of Jean Paul Akono. He stated that whenever it was necessary to relay information about the Indomitable Lions, including the succession process for Akono, the Team Press fulfilled its mission without hesitation.
Expressing his frustration, Nkoa suggested that his legitimate role seems to disturb some individuals more than others. The anger stems from articles in the local press, with one website claiming on May 3, 2013, that Akono no longer wanted to work with the Team Press, accusing it of lacking neutrality and playing a murky role in the recruitment process for a new coach. The same article hinted at the possible exclusion of Raphaël Nkoa from the Indomitable Lions group if Akono’s tenure were extended.
