The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot) has ordered an audit of the financial assistance program (Fap) funds allocated by FIFA for the development of Cameroonian football in 2012. The audit, authorized by the Fécafoot standardization committee, will examine how the funds were managed during the financial year from January 1 to December 31, 2012. FIFA’s financial assistance program provides funds to member federations to improve administrative management, develop infrastructure, and support youth football projects. The audit comes amid reports in the Cameroonian press criticizing the management of FIFA funds, alleging that no significant sports complexes, technical centers, or stadiums were built or developed in 2012. The audit is expected to shed light on how the allocated funds were utilized by Fécafoot.
