Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are locked in a transfer battle for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, with both Premier League clubs vying to land the Cameroon international ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The 25-year-old forward delivered a standout campaign last term, registering 20 goals and eight assists across 38 appearances, cementing his status as one of the most influential attacking players in the league.

Manchester United were first to declare concrete interest in Mbeumo following the end of the season, submitting a proposal reportedly worth over £60 million.

However, Brentford are said to be holding firm on a valuation closer to £70 million, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Tottenham have now entered the fray, buoyed by their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Their interest, although more recent, has quickly gathered momentum, with reports suggesting they would be willing to meet Brentford’s asking price.

“Mbeumo wants to move to Manchester United,” Castles revealed. “But with Spurs in the Champions League, and if they match Brentford’s valuation, that could change things very quickly.”

This development places United under pressure, as they risk missing out on a player who has privately expressed interest in joining them.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have the upper hand in terms of European football on offer and are reportedly prepared to structure a bid that could match Brentford’s demands.

The forward, who has become a key figure for both club and country, is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks, as both clubs look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of pre-season preparations.

Mbeumo’s potential departure would mark a significant moment for Brentford, who have benefited enormously from his pace, creativity, and consistency since his arrival from Troyes in 2019.

As negotiations continue behind closed doors, the ball remains in the court of Brentford and the player’s representatives.

But with both Manchester United and Tottenham serious about landing the Cameroonian star, the race for Mbeumo’s signature is set to become one of the headline transfer stories of the summer.
