Cameroon Football Federation nears new equipment supplier deal after one all sports contract ends

Etoo 1

The Cameroon Football Federation (Fécafoot) is in the final stages of selecting a new kit supplier for the Indomitable Lions after its contract with One All Sports was terminated in August. The decision to end the partnership, which had once been hailed as lucrative for the national team, came as a result of the supplier’s failure to meet key obligations. One notable issue was the absence of the team’s dedicated bus, a critical component that had been promised as part of the agreement.

In response, Fécafoot acted swiftly, opening a call for tenders on September 19, 2024, to attract potential suppliers. Interested companies were initially given until September 30 to submit their bids.

However, in light of the high volume of applications—or perhaps to encourage additional candidates—the deadline was extended by Fécafoot’s Secretary General, Blaise Djounang, to October 15 at 3:30 p.m.

This move allowed more brands to join the competition, giving Fécafoot a broader range of options to choose from.

Now that the extended deadline has passed, Fécafoot has officially received all applications and formed a specialized internal committee to assess each one thoroughly.

The federation is seeking a supplier that can reliably provide high-quality kits, reflecting the Indomitable Lions’ prestigious status in international football.

Initially, the plan was for Cameroon to unveil their new kit during this month’s World Cup qualifying matches against Kenya.

However, due to the delay in securing a new deal, Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates were forced to play in generic, unbranded jerseys.

The kits, although resembling the previous designs from One All Sports, lacked any logos or distinctive marks—a rare and unexpected situation for a team of Cameroon’s caliber.

As anticipation builds, the football community eagerly awaits the announcement of the new equipment supplier.

While there has been speculation, it is believed that local brands may have limited chances of securing the contract.

Fécafoot appears inclined to select an international partner, likely due to the global production and export capacities that such companies can offer.

This decision will be critical, as it impacts not only the team’s image but also its ability to align with global ambitions and elevate its presence on the international stage.

The final decision is expected in the coming days, marking a significant moment for both Fécafoot and the Indomitable Lions.

The chosen supplier will play a key role in shaping the team’s identity as it moves forward with its goal of achieving success on the world stage.
