Cameroon football authorities launches disciplinary process after dramatic Colombe–Panthère walk-off

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has confirmed that the unresolved Elite One clash between Colombe Sportive and Panthère Sportive has been referred to the competent judicial commissions for review.

The match, held on Thursday, 26 February at the Stade Militaire, ended prematurely after the Colombe players refused to resume play following a controversial penalty awarded to Panthère. With 20 minutes remaining, the referee was forced to blow the final whistle, leaving the outcome in limbo.

In a statement published on Friday, 27 February, FECAFOOT outlined the procedural steps to determine the final outcome of the fixture. The federation confirmed that all relevant documents — including the official match sheet, referee reports, and supporting evidence — have been forwarded to the judicial commissions as mandated by the FECAFOOT General Regulations and Disciplinary Code.

“The technical assessment of the facts of the game is the sole responsibility of the referee,” the statement read. “Any dispute regarding a refereeing decision must be addressed through the regulatory channels provided for this purpose.”

FECAFOOT emphasized that the approval of the match result, the potential awarding of points or trophies, and the imposition of any disciplinary sanctions fall exclusively under the jurisdiction of the judicial authorities.

The decision from the judicial commissions will determine whether Colombe Sportive’s protest affects the official outcome, and whether any disciplinary measures will be applied to the club, its players, or officials. Until then, the result of the match and its implications for the Elite One standings remain uncertain.

This move underscores FECAFOOT’s commitment to following formal regulatory procedures while addressing controversies in Cameroon’s top-flight football.
