The football season in Cameroon is set to kick off on February 1, 2014, at the Reunification Stadium. The inaugural match features Astres de Douala facing off against Unisport du Haut-Nkam, with other matches scheduled for the following day.

In the elite division competition, a total of 19 teams will participate, while Ligue 2 will see the starting lineup of 18 clubs. At the end of the season, four clubs from the elite division will face relegation to the second division, while three from Ligue 2 will be promoted.

During a meeting between the board of directors of the Cameroon Professional Football League (Lfpc) and club presidents last Friday, it was confirmed that the Cameroonian State will provide financial support. The government plans to allocate 560 million CFA francs to the clubs, with the grant being distributed among 37 teams, including those in Ligue 2. Last season, this financial assistance was granted to 28 clubs.

Sources close to the Lfpc indicate that the State will offer an advance of 300 million francs. Ligue 1 clubs are required to collect 4.5 million, while those in Ligue 2 will receive 1.5 million this week as part of the financial support initiative.
