Initially scheduled to commence on January 18, 2014, but later postponed, the Cameroon football championship will finally kick off on February 1. This decision has been made by the Standardization Committee of the Cameroonian Federation.
Renamed “Ligue 1,” this year’s championship will feature 19 clubs, ensuring that each club receives an exemption for one matchday. At the conclusion of the season, the unfortunate teams occupying the last four places in the standings will face relegation to the lower division, resulting in the championship returning to an 18-team format.
