It was a challenging journey, but Jean Paul Akono has finally received his due. After six months of persistent efforts and complaints, the former coach of the Indomitable Lions has successfully secured payment for all of his salary arrears from the Ministry of Sports.
Akono has been granted 80 million CFA francs, which amounts to approximately 122,000 euros. This long-awaited payment comes as a relief for him, especially considering his recent health challenges.
Unfortunately, Akono suffered a coma at the beginning of January and is currently receiving medical care at a hospital in Yaoundé. However, with the financial compensation he has received, he will now be able to afford the necessary treatment and focus on his recovery.
This resolution marks the end of a nearly year-long struggle for Akono, during which he fought tirelessly to receive the compensation he rightfully deserved.
