In preparation for FIFA Day on August 14, the coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Volker Finke, is set to announce his squad on Monday for the upcoming regrouping. The training camp, scheduled in the Paris region from August 10, will determine the presence of Samuel Eto’o, the captain of the Cameroon team, who was absent during the last two matches.
Several other notable players who were missing from the previous matches may also return to the squad. This includes Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Willie Overtoom, Jean-Armel Kanak-Biyik, and Guy-Roland Ndy Assembe, who were all absent during the 4th and 5th qualifiers. Volker Finke aims to strengthen his team with the best possible players and plans to test new faces as potential replacements for those who played in the matches against Togo and DR Congo in June. The coach expressed some disappointment with the performance of certain players, and this regrouping will serve as a preparation for the final qualifier against Libya, marking the 6th and last day of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
