The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has confirmed the dates for the national team’s final two matches of the year in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, where they will face Namibia and Zimbabwe. These fixtures, which fall on matchdays five and six of the qualifiers, are set to round off what has been a strong campaign for the Indomitable Lions.
Cameroon, currently at the top of Group J with 10 points from four matches, has already secured its place in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to take place in Morocco in 2025.
With three victories and a draw so far, Cameroon leads second-placed Zimbabwe by two points, and has a comfortable four-point gap over third-placed Kenya.
Namibia, currently at the bottom of the group with no points, has been eliminated from contention.
The first of Cameroon’s remaining qualifiers is scheduled for 13 November, when they will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, to face Namibia at the Orlando Stadium.
This away game is expected to be an opportunity for the team to continue their winning momentum.
Cameroon’s final qualifier, a home fixture against Zimbabwe, will be held on 19 November at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, although the venue awaits final confirmation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This date was shared on Fecafoot’s official X (formerly Twitter) account as part of a calendar update on major upcoming sporting events.
With qualification already secured, the final two matches are expected to give Cameroon’s coaching staff an opportunity to explore squad depth and introduce fresh talent.
Coach Rigobert Song is likely to take advantage of the guaranteed qualification to rest key players and test emerging talents.
The fixtures could be a crucial proving ground for new or less-experienced players looking to solidify their place in the team hierarchy ahead of the CAN 2025.
Upcoming Matches for Cameroon:
- Namibia vs Cameroon: 13 November 2024, Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa.
- Cameroon vs Zimbabwe: 19 November 2024, Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, Yaoundé (pending CAF confirmation).
These final qualifiers provide Cameroon a strategic chance to refine their lineup and build cohesion before AFCON 2025.
For the fans, the upcoming matches will serve as a showcase of both established talents and rising stars who may play pivotal roles in Morocco.
As the Indomitable Lions aim to build on their impressive campaign thus far, Cameroonians will be watching eagerly to see the next steps for a team already well-positioned among Africa’s footballing elite.
