Cameroon’s national football team faced Angola at the National Stadium in Luanda on Tuesday for the fourth day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, notable by his absence was Jules Armand Kooh, the center forward of Astres de Douala, who did not play a single minute against Cape Verde and Angola, despite being called up by coach Marc Brys.

The absence of Kooh, a promising young talent, has raised questions among fans and analysts alike.

Belgian coach Marc Brys shed light on the situation, citing administrative issues as the primary reason for Kooh’s non-participation in these crucial matches.

“It’s our job to detect young talents. We took two. Unfortunately, Kooh has something wrong with his birthdate. It’s not fair; we lost this striker.

We will continue to watch the matches locally. I’m sure there’s a lot of talent. It’s up to us to start working. It’s also part of our job. T

here are a lot of good feelings when you give a young person the chance to come to the national team and they succeed,” Brys explained.

Brys expressed his frustration over the administrative hurdles that prevented Kooh from joining the national squad.

These issues, he implied, have deprived the team of a valuable player who could have made a significant impact in the qualifiers.

Despite this setback, Brys remains optimistic and committed to scouting and nurturing local talent.

He emphasized the importance of integrating young players into the national team to bolster the future of Cameroonian football.

The coach’s remarks underscore the ongoing challenges in managing and developing football talent in Cameroon.

Administrative discrepancies like those affecting Kooh not only hinder individual careers but also impact the overall performance and potential of the national team.

As Cameroon continues its campaign for the 2026 World Cup, Brys’s focus on local talent development will be crucial.

His determination to provide opportunities for young players and build a robust team foundation is a positive sign for the future of Cameroonian football.

In conclusion, while the absence of Jules Armand Kooh is a significant blow for Cameroon, it also highlights the broader issues within the football administration.

Marc Brys’s dedication to overcoming these challenges and fostering local talent offers hope for a stronger, more resilient national team in the years to come.
