Cameroon coach David Pagou gets full house ahead of AFCON 2027 qualifiers

Cameroon head coach David Pagou now has a full squad at his disposal ahead of the opening two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, following the arrival of the final group of players on Tuesday, September 22.

The Indomitable Lions’ training camp was officially launched on September 20 after the first group of players reported for duty, with the squad gradually taking shape as more internationals joined their teammates.

Five additional players arrived at camp on Monday evening, September 21. The group included Bryan Mbeumo, Danny Namaso, Saïdou Alioum Moubarak, Bil Nsongo and Stéphane Keller.

The final batch reported in the early hours of Tuesday, completing Pagou’s squad as Cameroon step up preparations for their opening qualifying fixtures.

David Roy Nyengue, Darlin Yongwa, Duplexe Tchamba, Christian Kofane and Jackson Tchatchoua were the final players to arrive, joining their teammates at the Indomitable Lions’ training base.

With the squad now complete, Pagou can turn his full attention to tactical and physical preparations ahead of Cameroon’s opening AFCON 2027 qualifying assignment.

The Indomitable Lions will travel to Garoua, where they are scheduled to host Comoros on Wednesday, September 24, in their first Group-stage fixture of the qualifying campaign.

Cameroon will then face a quick turnaround for their second assignment, with the team set to travel to Brazzaville to take on Congo a few days later.

The two fixtures will provide Cameroon with an early opportunity to make a strong start to their qualifying campaign and build momentum in their bid to secure a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

With the entire squad now available, Pagou and his technical team can intensify their preparations as the Indomitable Lions prepare for their opening test against Comoros in Garoua.
