Cameroon open their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Comoros as David Pagou begins a new era in charge of the national side.

Pagou has overseen a major renewal of the squad, introducing a younger and more disciplined team as he seeks to establish his authority in the opening Group G match on home soil.

The coach has made decisive changes by leaving out several long-serving senior players in an effort to create a culture based on merit. Bryan Mbeumo has been appointed the new captain, while midfielder Arthur Avom is among the players expected to help drive the team forward.
