Camara goal gives Burkina Faso narrow win in CAN 2027 qualifiers

Burkina Faso moved to the top of Group F, at least temporarily, after Aboubacar Camara’s goal secured a 1-0 victory over the Central African Republic in Casablanca on Monday.

The second-round match was goalless at half-time before Camara broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. Amir Abdou’s side then protected their lead through to the final whistle.

The win takes Burkina Faso to four points in the CAN 2027 qualifying group. Their final position after the second round will depend on the result of Benin’s match against Mauritania on Tuesday, 29 September.

The Etalons will next face Argentina in a friendly on 3 October in Buenos Aires.
