Callum Hudson-Odoi reflects on vital Europa League goal for Nottingham Forest

Callum Hudson-Odoi expressed his delight after scoring a crucial goal in Nottingham Forest’s Europa League playoff against Fenerbahce, even though his side lost the second leg 2-1 on the night.

His strike proved decisive, securing a 4-2 aggregate victory and booking Forest’s place in the next round of the competition.

“We made it difficult for ourselves sometimes. We showed a great reaction after they scored the second goal. You could tell we wanted to get the goal, which we did,” Hudson-Odoi admitted, pleased with the team’s response under pressure.

He felt Forest needed to “up the levels” and focus on their strengths, particularly their aggressive pressing and brave football.

Reflecting on his finish, he added that his instinct was simply to get a shot away and hit the target, even if the result on the night was disappointing.
