Caleb Yirenkyi: Porto linked with €10m move for Nordsjaelland’s Ghana midfielder

FC Porto are being linked with a move for FC Nordsjaelland’s Ghanaian central midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, whose future in Denmark is uncertain with no public contract expiry date disclosed.

Reports in Portugal and Denmark suggest Porto are monitoring the 20-year-old, with the Liga Portugal side considering whether to test Nordsjaelland’s resolve over a player currently valued at €10.00m on Transfermarkt. The rumoured probability of a deal remains listed as “?” and there is no indication yet whether any fee, loan or potential free‑agent scenario is on the table.

Yirenkyi, born on 15 January 2006 in Bechem, Ghana, has emerged as one of Nordsjaelland’s most highly regarded young players, operating primarily as a central midfielder and favouring his right foot. He wears the number 36 shirt for the Superliga club and stands at 1.82m, offering a blend of height and mobility in the middle of the pitch.

In Nordsjaelland’s recent Superliga fixture against domestic opposition earlier this month – a tightly contested match in which the Danish side edged a narrow win – Yirenkyi featured in central midfield, contributing with his work rate and positional discipline as Nordsjaelland looked to protect a slender lead. His progression in these high‑intensity league matches has helped underpin the current interest in his services.

With no contract expiry date publicly available, speculation persists that Nordsjaelland could eventually face the risk of losing the Ghanaian for a reduced fee or even as a free agent if no extension is agreed. That uncertainty, combined with his €10.00m valuation, is seen as a potential opportunity for Porto as they continue to refresh their midfield options.

Should a move materialise, a switch from the Danish Superliga to Liga Portugal would represent a significant step in Yirenkyi’s career, offering a bigger stage on which to develop his reputation and test his potential in European competition.
