Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has reinforced a firm stance on fairness within African football governance, declaring that no member association will ever receive preferential treatment under his leadership.

Speaking with clarity on CAF’s guiding principles on Wednesday while addressing the press following an official visit to Dakar, Motsepe emphasized that fairness, equality, and integrity remain non-negotiable values at the heart of the organization’s operations.

His remarks come amid ongoing efforts to strengthen trust in African football institutions and ensure that all 54 member associations are treated on equal footing.

He underlined the weight of responsibility carried by CAF as it represents and serves more than 1.6 billion people across the continent.

According to Motsepe, this scale of representation demands the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and unity in decision-making.

The CAF president’s message also serves as a broader reminder of the link between governance and the global perception of African football.

He noted that the credibility and respect the game commands internationally are closely tied to how well unity and fairness are upheld within the continent.

Motsepe’s comments reflect a continued push to align CAF with global best practices while fostering a culture where every nation—regardless of size or influence—has an equal voice in shaping the future of African football.
