The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed the poster and campaign theme for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from August 2 to 30, 2025.
Presented under the banner “PAMOJA” — the Swahili word for “Union” — the campaign celebrates the spirit of collaboration between the three East African nations as they prepare for their first-ever joint hosting of a major CAF tournament.
The announcement was made on Monday, July 21, marking a significant milestone in the lead-up to the competition.
“PAMOJA” is more than just a slogan; it reflects a broader message of solidarity, unity, and cultural pride as the region steps into the continental spotlight.
CAF noted that this event will also serve as a vital dress rehearsal for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which the same trio of countries is set to host.
The official CHAN 2024 poster, rich in color and symbolism, pays homage to the energy and vibrancy of African football.
CAF highlighted that the design also draws inspiration from the 2022 CHAN edition hosted by Algeria — adopting the iconic orange hue associated with that tournament — while incorporating imagery and motifs reflective of East African heritage.
“This visual identity brings together the passion of the game and the cultural wealth of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania,” CAF stated in promotional materials accompanying the launch.
With just 11 days remaining until the tournament kicks off, the PAMOJA campaign is being rolled out across a wide array of platforms.
CAF has planned an expansive media strategy, including digital activations and promotional content designed to deepen engagement with football fans across the continent and strengthen the tournament’s presence within African communities.
The African Nations Championship is unique among CAF competitions in that it features only players who compete in their national domestic leagues.
This creates a critical opportunity for showcasing local talent and boosting national leagues, particularly in the build-up to a larger continental role in 2027.
As the countdown begins, all eyes now turn to East Africa, where preparations are underway in newly renovated and modernised stadiums.
CAF officials have expressed confidence in the hosts’ readiness, and with the poster and campaign now unveiled, the final phase of anticipation begins for what promises to be a landmark edition of CHAN.
